IceBlast

"IceBlast" is an immersive 2.5D side-scrolling game that revolves around the core mechanics of momentum and movement. Players embark on a thrilling journey to reach their igloo, overcoming challenges and obstacles along the way. The game introduces strategic gameplay elements, where skillful utilization of momentum boost pickups becomes crucial for progress. While caution is advised when encountering the formidable drifters, astute players may find unexpected opportunities to leverage their presence. With a captivating blend of action and strategy, "IceBlast" delivers an exhilarating experience as players navigate the frozen landscapes in their quest to safely return home.

Role(s) and Responsibilities:

Level Design

  • Drew up a pixel map idea for each level in IceBlast, ramping the difficulty up by a fair amount each level.

  • Blocked out the level in UE4 with BSP.

  • Test each level and make sure they fit the required difficulty I want, make sure the levels flow and feel linear.

  • After Playtesting, mesh the level with trees, igloos and textures.

UX Design

  • Use wireframes to plan an intuitive and easily manoeuvrable UI.

  • Develop the UI in UMG, making sure all buttons work as required.

Movement mechanics and trailer were created by my peer.
